The following morning, Malia woke up feeling exhausted and a little lightheaded. It was a side effect of the drug Chan had given her. She carefully set up in his bed. She looked around the room. It was beautiful and luxurious. The comforter and sheets were made with the finest luxurious Egyptian cotton and silk materials. This was not a typical bachelor’s room in any way. She could tell a decorator had come in and done this for him.

"No, I am not worried about that either!” Looking down at his newspaper.
"Why not?”She asked him.
“Well, should I be? Is there something you want
The room was full of natural sunlight coming through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows illuminating the space. Sitting up straight, all she could see was the view of the Willamette River and Mount Hood in front of her.
It was a glorious view. Looking over to the nightstand, she noticed her phone was not there. She looked around the room, scanning for her clothes. Malia reached between her legs as she felt a sharp pain. Just as she expected, her vagina was swollen from her trip to pound town. Maybe I should not have told him to go so hard. That was a huge mistake. She rolled her eyes. Chan had really done a number on her ass, literally.
Malia lay there completely undressed as she felt a little embarrassed. These two were still getting to know each other and had only been official for a few weeks. She didn’t want sex to become the primary focus of their relationship now that it finally happened. I want us to have a deep, lasting, intimate connection. Things have been amazing up until now. I hope nothing between us changes....
"Are you a wake?” Chan asked while walking in and interrupting her thoughts.
"I am.” She said turning towards him. She had been staring out the penthouse windows getting lost in her thoughts.
"How do you feel?” He asked coming over to sit on the side of the bed. He gently caressed the side of her face.
"A little lightheaded and sore!” Pointing downwards. She looked at him with a shy frown on her face.
"I am sorry!” He leaned over to kiss her lips.
"I had breakfast prepared for us on the balcony by my chef. I have some Jasmine tea for you. I know you like to start your weekends drinking tea instead of coffee.” He stroked her bare leg.
"Wait..... how did you know I like drinking tea on the weekends?” She was confused.
"You told me.” He narrowed his eyes at her.
"When?? I don’t remember that....”
"You told me when I took you out for Sunday brunch a few weeks back.” She thought back to that day but didn’t recall talking about her weekend morning routine.
"I will be right back. I will get you something for your pain.” Smiling at her with a genuine expression.
“Thank you!!” She touched his hand.
He nodded his head and walked into his master bathroom. She was surprised by how gentle he was with her. Some men switch up on a woman after sex and rush them out the door. It seemed he was doing everything he could to make her stay.
"Hey, what time is it? She looked around his room for a clock, but it was gone. He had removed it from his room before she woke up that morning because he knew she would freak out and leave.
"9:45 a.m.” He replied
Oh no no no noo!“ She looked troubled.
"What’s wrong?” With a concerned look on his face. He was confused.
"I was supposed to meet with my mother and grandmother this morning to go shopping at 9. I am so late, oh my god!” She looked around for her clothes while she wrapped herself up in his sheet.
"Someone sent you a few text messages this morning, I heard your phone making noise. I did not want to wake you. You looked so peaceful.” He handed her the phone.
Looking down at her phone, “My mom sent me a message. She said that she had to cancel our morning date.” She shook her head.
"Apparently, Brandon and his family drove down from Seattle this morning and wanted to meet with her and Nana to finalize the last-minute wedding details for my little sister’s wedding. You know, this just has to be so spectacular.” She said sarcastically waving her hands in the air.
"How are the wedding plans going?” He asked curiously.
"I guess they are fine. I don’t ask....” She crossed her arms and stared out the window thinking about how her money was spent for it.
"Ooh okay.” He looked a little confused.
"What was that tone about?” She looked at him strangely.
"I would have thought you would have been more excited about the wedding that’s all. I know women love weddings.
Malia gave him a half-smart- ass smile and rolled her eyes.
"Not all women are intoxicated with the thought of marriage.” She shrugged her shoulders.
So does that mean she is not interested in getting married????
The reality was the whole family was under enormous pressure from this absurdly elaborate wedding that was gearing up to be the wedding event of the year. With each wedding, Sandy had outdone herself and this was going to be no different. Marrying into the Hill family was going to certainly shift things in a massive way for them all.
Sandy having a son-in-law as a senator taking his father’s seat meant legacy power. She was showing these women in Rose City how it should be done. Sandy had something to prove since everyone liked to come for her not marrying one of their own. Frank had been a great husband and father. He provided well for them, but to these snobbish people, he would always be an outsider who was self-made. They believed in old money.
Only the best matches for her daughters were worthy. They all married rich and well-connected men. Veronica’s soon-to-be father-in-law was a regular CNN correspondent. He was well respected in the political and business arena. Rose City was known for producing affluent Black families that came from deep pockets with a wide social network that could get them into any room. These families were very powerful and scary if they felt crossed.
"So where are you coming from?” She could tell he had been out.
"I went to the gym this morning. I had to meet with my personal trainer.” He said leaning against the wall with his water bottle in his hand.
"Did you have a good session with your trainer?” She looked up.
"Yeah, it was fine. I had a better time with you last night!” He smiled.
"Oh okay......Sooooo where are my clothes?” She tilted her head to the side looking at him like she was annoyed.
"I sent them to the dry cleaners. They will be done in an hour or two.”
Malia’s mouth opened wide, but no words came out for a second.
"I don’t have any clothes to wear!!” She looked stunned while running her fingers through her wild curly hair.
"Here, you can wear these!” He pulled out a pair of the most comfortable sweatpants he had, a t-shirt, and a zip-up hooded sweatshirt.
"Thanks! I will get dressed now.” She smiled at him, waiting for him to leave so she could get dressed in private.
"Come eat with me outside when you are done getting dressed. Here take two of these pills your head will feel much better soon. Breakfast is waiting for us. It’s nice outside this morning."
"Thanks for everything you know, the food and the clothes.”
"You’re welcome!! I am just happy to have you here with me, finally.” She smiled at him sweetly.
Walking outside to the balcony the fresh morning air hit her. It was soothing to her. The view was even more stunning from his balcony. Looking around the view was something she would have seen in a luxury resort magazine.
"My God this view is to die for!! I thought my view was pretty special, but this takes the cake.” She was in awe. “I would be out here all of the time if I had a balcony like this!!”
"My house is your house babe. I would love to eat with you every day out here.” He smiled lovingly at her. He took a sip of his tea while reading over some contracts sent to him to finalize.
"What are you reading?” She asked as she took a bite of her bacon.
"Going over some highlights from my lawyer for another acquisition we are closing this week.”
She looked like she had something on her mind and he noticed the expression on her face.
"What is it?” He asked putting aside his computer.
"Can I ask you a question?”
"Anything what is it?” Reaching out to hold her hand.
"I was just wondering how did you know that my professor was sleeping with his students? I am sure you have noticed the scandal. It has been all over the news for weeks.”
Chan cleared his throat. He was not expecting her to ask him about that. He was still thinking about her sexy body undressed laying in his bed wrapped up in his sheets.
“Like I told you I am a business man and besides Portland is not that big. Word travels fast here.....anywhere for that matter. The young woman at the center of this I know her father. He slipped it out of his mouth the last time we spoke. I had no idea that 'man' if you can call him that, was your professor.
Now the police are involved and he is going down as he should. He was a high school tennis coach for a private school in Lake Oswego. Some underage girls have already come forward saying that they were victimized by him as well.”
“I agree he is a monster. Well, I am glad he will get everything he deserves behind bars!” Malia looked concerned.
"Well let me ask you a question,” Chan asked Malia.
"Go ahead.” She looked at him.
"You seem so distant. What is on your mind?” He asked knowing already what she was thinking. “
"I am just thinking about what we did last night!” Her innocent eyes looked into his.
"Did...did we do something wrong?” He looked at her with a confused expression.
"No! I just don’t want to allow sex to become the primary focus of the relationship. I have enjoyed what we built over the last few weeks. Deep down I don’t want that to change. I know how you men can be....” She gave him a look that said she didn’t play any games.
"Your points are all valid. I understand your concerns. I have enjoyed what we have created as well and I only want to further our connection.” He smiled at her.
“I hate to keep bringing up Mike, but he was the only man I have ever been with." She looked hurt.
Not this mother fucker again!! I am sick of his ass and all of the shit he did that I have to clean up!! He tried to keep a straight face.
"I don’t want to get hurt again like that. I feel really comfortable around you, and that scares me. I have never let anyone in this fast. I have dated other guys, but no one captured my soul like you have. I am sorry if I seem a bit off. I am still processing my feelings. It’s not you, it is definitely me!”
“I understand what you mean. I felt the same way about you from the moment I laid eyes on you. There was something different about you that made me stop and pause. I know how fragile the heart can be. I will be patient with yours.”
"Thank you! I will do the same! So let me ask you another question. Did we use protection last night? Everything happened, so fast!”
"The first few times yes, but after that point we didn’t.” Looking at her while drinking his tea.
Malia eyed him like she was horrified. "OH MY GOD!” Putting her head in her hands.
"Babe, what's wrong?” Malia looked at him strangely. How could he be so DAM calm?
"We had sex without protection! Why aren't you worried about getting me pregnant? I am not on birth control because I have not had sex in years!” She rolled her eyes at him in annoyance.
“It has been that long huh? DANG! No wonder why you were, so ti-” He shook his head stopping himself.
"Yeah well, I told you I don’t do this much!” She slumped down into her chair.
"To answer your question, no I am not worried about you getting pregnant!”
Malia’s face turned up at him in disgust. She could not believe what he was saying to her.
"Well if you are that concerned they have the morning-after pill you can take it if you like, but no babies don’t scare me.”
"Okay, so why aren’t you worried about me having an STD or AIDs or something crazy like that?” Looking at him she was dumbfounded.
to tell me?” Eyeing her suspiciously.
“No! I was tested after my ex and I broke up and I was good. We always used protection ALWAYS!! He was very adamant about not having kids too early. He said kids would ruin his life.”
She looked away as her words trailed off.
"What about you?” She asked him while drinking her tea nervously.
"Well I have not been with anyone in three and a half years, and I was also tested to make sure I had no diseases. So don’t worry!” He continued to read his paper.
"How is it that you can trust me, so much when you don’t even know me?” She looked worried.
"I am an excellent judge of character. I know your heart, and I believe what you tell me. You are a good person with a good soul. I am just lucky I have found you!” Grabbing her hand and kissing it.
“Do you know the number of women who would line up down the street to sleep with you without a condom on just to have your child and be set for life? You have to be very careful. You don’t have to worry about me, but there are for sure some women out there who would see you as a come-up/ meal ticket.”
“I went out with a woman one time and we had fun. Later on, I found out that she had been looking into my net worth, and how much she could force me to pay her in child support. She Googled it and found out that she could ask me for upwards of $100,000 or more a month for one child. She was scandalous. I dropped that bitch!”
He did not even look up from reading his morning newspaper to see the bizarre look on Malia’s face.
He took a sip of his tea when the doorbell suddenly rang. Malia looked over at him, “ummm this is your house, not mine.” She continued to eat her food. Chan laughed and shook his head as he got up.
“I will check on that.” He smiled.
You don’t just start answering people’s door because you had sex with them. That’s too comfortable for my taste. I learned my lesson the hard way from that mess with Antonio. That should have never happened. What was I thinking going over there? It's just been a lot of drama ever since with him and April. Some people have started to question if the wedding will even happen or not......FUCK!!!!!
